IBAS (Innovative Business Analytics for SMEs) is an international project implemented under the Erasmus+ programme in the field of Vocational Education and Training (KA220-VET). The project runs from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2027 (24 months).
The mission of IBAS is to modernise vocational education by equipping VET learners and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with practical business analytics skills that support digital transformation and data-driven decision-making.
IBAS responds to the growing need for professionals capable of using analytical tools such as Python, R, Power BI, Tableau and other digital solutions to improve marketing, finance, logistics, and operational processes in SMEs. The project bridges the gap between vocational education and real business needs by combining structured curriculum development, digital learning environments, and direct industry collaboration.
Justification for the project
The IBAS project addresses the growing mismatch between labour market demands and vocational education provision. While business analytics and digital data management are increasingly essential across sectors, many VET programmes still lack structured training in these areas.
At the same time, SMEs often struggle to adopt analytical tools due to limited access to skilled professionals and practical training. This weakens their competitiveness and slows digital transformation processes.
IBAS responds to this challenge by creating an integrated educational ecosystem that combines curriculum development, open digital learning, work-based learning, and SME engagement. By doing so, the project ensures that vocational training becomes more responsive, innovation-driven, and aligned with economic realities.
